Holy Family Trip

Day 01:            Cairo
Meet and assist upon arrival at Cairo airport
Transfer to Hotel, check in and overnight in Cairo  

Day 2:   Cairo
Our first destination will be Coptic Cairo; one of the most ancient parts of Cairo. We will visit the Hanging Church famous for being built on top of the Roman Walls (old Babylon Fortress), St. Barbara Church with its beautiful restorations after the Fire of 750 AD, St. Sergius Church which was built on the spot where the Holy Family has rested, St. George Church the Greek church built on a Roman Tower, The Virgin’s Church where the relics of St Demiana and Simon the Tanner are kept, and Ben Ezra Synagogue a former Church who became a Synagogue thanks to Abraham Ben Ezra.
Our Second destination for this day will be Matareya to come close to the Tree of the Holy Virgin and visit the Holy Family Church together with St. Mark Cathedral which hosts St. Mark’s relics.
Overnight in Cairo.
 Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 3:   Cairo / El Menya
With the enchanting images of the frescos and the unique scent of Cairo’s Monasteries imprinted in our hearts we will leave Cairo early in the morning to hit the road towards Menya to visit Gabal Al Taier (the bird’s mountain) where the shape of the hand Jesus is miraculously imprinted on one of the rocks; Al Barcha Monastery and Church, and The Virgin Mary Church, all highly archeologically and spiritual sites enclosing hundreds of decades of history.
Overnight in El Menya.
 Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 4:      Assiut / Cairo
After an early breakfast in El Menya we will start our journey towards Assiut to visit the Monastery of the Virgin Mary (also known as Al Muharraq), this Monastery is huge, more than 100 monks live there, it has 5 churches and a very big library. Then visit Al Muallaq Monastery of St. Mina the Martyr.  Afterwards we will return to Cairo
Overnight in Cairo.
 Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 5:   Cairo
Early in the morning we will visit the various Monasteries in the Natroun Valley like the Monastery of Al Baramus (Monastery of the Romans) built more than 1600 years ago.  Monastery of Al Saryian famous for The Church of the Forty-Nine Martyrs. Monastery of Abu Makkar, built by St. Makarius the great in the 4th Century.
Overnight in Cairo
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 6:    Cairo / Saint Catherine
After breakfast we will leave Cairo again to reach the last destination of our pilgrimage, Saint Catherine where we will visit the Monastery and climb Moses Mountain

Free time at leisure to freshen up and relax before the climb of Mount Sinai; the Holy Mountain on which Moses received the two Stone Tables. The Climb usually which takes place around mid night. You will be escorted till up the Biblical Mountain to enjoy the most beautiful and powerful  view-the river of reddish pink flooding the sky above you to reveal all the valleys and mountains of Sinai
 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7:  Saint Catherine / Cairo
We will have our breakfast in the Hotel before our visit to Saint Catherine’s Monastery; the oldest Greek Orthodox Monastery in the world. Then we will return to Cairo via Suez Canal Tunnel in order to pass by Moses' bath and Pharaoh’s bath with its 15 springs. With the amazingly sacred and fascinating pictures of the sunset from Mount Sinai we will have finished this incredible experience.
Overnight in Cairo.
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 8: Cairo
Final Departure from Cairo International Airport
Meals: Breakfast .
